In this six part series, Ven. Khenpo Karten Rinpoche will teach a practical and complete course in Tibetan Buddhism, presented traditionally in a modern setting and format: (I) Introduction and Overview of the Buddhist Path and Its Aims and Benefits, (II) Introduction to Buddhist Ethics (The Ten Virtuous and Non-virtuous Actions) and the Benefits of Its Practice; (III) Basic Meditation Techniques: Breathing and Calm-Abiding Meditation; (IV) Buddha’s First Teaching: The Four Noble Truths; (V) Tibetan Teaching on the Six Stages of the Bardo (Intermediate Existence Between Death and Rebirth); and, (VI) The Advanced Tibetan Buddhist Practice of Ch’od (Meditation Practice for Cutting Attachment). The classes will include time for discussion, questions, and guided meditation.

About the Presenter

Venerable Khenpo Karten Rinpoche was recognized as an incarnate lama and educated in eastern Tibet under many high lamas before escaping into exile in Nepal in 1997. In Nepal he continued his studies and practice and became Abbot of Tsokyni Rinpoche’s Monastery. Presently, he has been teaching in Taiwan and also in the US.
