About the Event

It’s a strange thing to focus on pain but sometimes there is no other way to make peace with it. Physical pain is something everyone experiences and few embrace. Some experience chronic pain, chronic discomfort, which sometimes can’t be pushed away, and no matter what we call it, or how we feel about it, it’s with us like a barnacle. Fortunately, there are ways to work with pain inthe body, traditional techniques practiced for centuries: meditation techniques, visualizations, and some physical practices that can help. These practices also help us to change our mind about pain and discomfort and be more at peace. This workshop will instruct you in ways to work with what is present in your own body.

Saturday, October 11, 11am–4pm

$100 (Members $90)

About the Presenter

Jill Satterfield, founder of Vajra Yoga & Meditation (www.vajrayoga.com), has been teaching yoga and meditation for 20 years. She lived with debilitating chronic pain and illness for over 15 years, after enduring multiple surgeries (13) and being informed that there was nothing more anyone could do for her body or the pain. Of necessity, she began to research healing and, in the process, to work with her mind. Healing beyond expectations, and completely dispelling the pain, Satterfield gained some understanding, and humor, about her own mind.
